Behind Thorne Theory
Hi, I’m Kat.
I don’t believe the perfect photo is the one where everyone smiles at the camera.
I believe it’s the one you’ll stare at twenty years from now because you forgot your toddler always held your finger like that. Or the way your husband looked at you when you weren’t paying attention. Or the chaos that somehow felt ordinary until it was gone.
That’s what I’m chasing.
Thorne Theory was built on the idea that photographs should feel like memories—not performances. I’ll guide you when you need it, disappear when you don’t, and probably get way too excited over the light hitting a hallway or a patch of wildflowers that everyone else walked past.
Around here, we don’t rush through sessions checking poses off a list. We slow down. We wander. We let kids be kids. We embrace the wind, the imperfect hair, the muddy shoes, the quiet moments between the big ones, because those are usually the photographs that become family favorites.
Whether we’re standing barefoot on a beach, exploring a hidden trail, saying “I do” at a courthouse, or documenting your baby’s tiny years, my goal is always the same:
To create photographs that feel like home long after the moment is gone.
Welcome to Thorne Theory.
I’m really glad you found your way here.

The History of the Brand
Before there were polished galleries and new adventures, there were these moments. The people who believed in Thorne Theory from the beginning and helped shape the photographer I am today.
